For the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation there is a definite pro and con for the packaging. Starting with the pros, the product comes in a glass bottle finished with simplistic labeling which gives it a nice touch. Looks and feel wise – the packaging is great. The con though is that the product does not come with a pump included. The packaging comes with 2 caps: a small twist off for the mouth of the bottle and a larger one to cover the first. Now I did do a little research and found that the pump is available in the US on the Nars website ($6 USD), unfortunately I do live in Canada and following my efforts to get a pump I came to the realization that it was just no worth it. So because there is no pump you are pretty much left to pour the foundation out on the back of your hand which always leads to either a mess or over pouring. Overall, the look and feel of the product is amazing unfortunately a pump for the foundation is not included making it ‘iffy’ for general daily use and traveling.
My frustrations regarding the lack of a pump aside, the foundation has actually become my staple for a dewy look. The product has a buildable medium coverage that has a dewy/glowly finish. The foundation therefore keeps your skin hydrated making it great for normal to dry skin types. Also because of the dewy finish the foundation helps to make your skin look brighter and illuminated which in turn helps to make your skin look healthy and youthful. The foundation does need to be set as it may slide around without powder however if done with the right product it will not look cakey. Before powder the texture will feel moist to the touch but definitely not sticky which is good. As for longevity the foundation (if set with powder) sits well throughout the day, it does not fall into fine lines (granted you have used a primer). Personally, though it was a dewy finish I did not find the need to powder through the day and the product did not look or feel oily at the end but this all depends on your skin. Side note: I did find that around my 6th hour of wear the product started to fade around my nose a little but nothing too significant. Lastly, the shade I purchased has a yellow undertone and matched my skin almost perfectly, they also have a large and diverse selection of shade that covers a good range. Overall, this is a great foundation for achieving a dewy or glowy look. It has a decent and buildable coverage that is great for daily makeup and even heavier makeup days. Besides the fading in small area on my face near the end of the day the product wears pretty well and does not feel greasy or oily.
Tip: for a smooth and flawless application use a beauty blender and set the foundation thoroughly with powder.

The Nars Pro-Prime is a primer/ make up base that works to target lines and pores. It is extremely light weight and comes in a travel friendly packaging.
The first thought I had regarding the packaging of this product was the small size and amount. In relation to its price, you do not get very much product as it comes in a solid form that sits in a retractable stick. But with the size aside it is designed very efficiently making it great for travelling or throwing into your purse. In addition the appearance of the product is very simple and clean, the signature look of Nars products. Overall, though the size is small the packaging is compact and the cap closes well with a reassuring click, making it optimal for travelling.
The Nars Pro-Prime is slightly different from many other primers on the market as it comes in a solid form, much like the consistency of a solid perfume or lip balm. Personally, I feel this format is both positive and negative. The positive point would be that over application or excess product is highly unlikely in comparison to primers that come in a creamy or liquid consistency. However, the negative point would be that you will be unaware of the amount you have used and therefore unsure of whether you may want to apply more or stop there. As for the feeling and functionality of the product personally I feel it works for light to medium level lines and pores. It works well to blur and fill out extremely fine lines or pores but may not work as well for deeper ones. The feeling was also good as it felt barely there and extremely light on my skin with no sign of stickiness. On a side note I would I am not 100% sure but it feels as though it is silicone based and those who do not like a silicone based product will not enjoy this primer.
I personally had a good experience with the Nars Pro-Prime as it worked to blur highly minor issues like extremely fine lines and pores. The product is relatively easy to use and application is rather quick. It also feels light weight and non sticky on the skin, in addition it does not have an overwhelming fragrance. I would recommend this product if you have small line and pore issues however, keep in mind that it is not a ‘cure’ and will not fix the problems it will only momentarily cover them up.
