Bite Beauty recently revamped their lipstick line and came out with the Amuse Bouche lipsticks. I only grabbed one shade from the collection so I picked Thistle which stood out to me. I initially hesitated on the shade, until I saw a friend of mine post a picture in it and thought it looked amazing on her so I grabbed one for myself.

PACKAGING

The lipstick came in double packaging with a lip designed covering over the cleanly designed box. This made the packaging feel more luxurious than their original and the lipstick comes in a grey matte bullet that looked clean and sleek. Overall, the lipstick comes in simple and clean packaging that feels and looks great – the cap clicks into place and keeps the product safe. They even detailed the bullet with a ‘B’ which has a nice touch.

PRODUCT

The lipstick has a satin finish which is half way between matte and shiny. The pigmentation is high and smoothes on well due to its creamy texture. The pigmentation is so strong that you do not need to cover your lip colour before applying. The application is clean and smooth without any jumps or skips and the texture feels great. The lipstick lasts a good portion of the day (mainly until you eat) and it does not dry out your lips. The product feels comfortable (not as lightweight as I hoped) on the lips and has a slight citrus-y scent, which may bother some people. However, because of the satin finish the colour does transfer and the colours come off a little different when swatched versus tried on. Overall, the product is alright, as I do have higher expectations for a lipstick priced at $30. The lipstick is great and the colour selection is very versatile however, it did not blow me away performance wise.

SHADE

Thistle: is a mauve-y purple that looks great swatched however looks a little too purple to pass of as an everyday lipstick. However, it does look great when I want a purple tone lip while keeping it subtle for my heavier makeup looks.
