Anastasia Beverly Hills is known for its amazing brow products – however they recently came out (in Canada..) with liquid lipsticks so I grabbed a couple to try.
PACKAGING
The liquid lipstick comes in a medium size tube with a doe footed applicator. The tube is a clear plastic which allows you to see the colour but has copper detailing at the top. Unfortunately, the copper detailing did start to scratch off when I threw the product into my purse for use throughout the day. Otherwise, the size and functionality of the product is great and is also travel friendly.
PRODUCT
The liquid lipstick’s texture is a lot like a buttery mousse which glides on flawlessly without skips and feels extremely light weight. The pigmentation is high which makes multiple applications unnecessary. The colour is opaque and covers your original lip colour well but still remains thin and light weight. The colour selection is also great, as the lipsticks have a large selection of nude to natural pink tones and a couple of bolder but still wearable deeper tones. The lipstick lasts the majority of the day unless you eat greasy and oily foods, which are known to take off liquid lipsticks. Also the lipstick is not too drying on the lips – I still would prefer the Kat Von D’s formula over this one however it is a great second. Reapplication is also very smooth and the product does not bunch up like many other liquid lipsticks. Overall, the lipstick is smooth, lightweight, and extremely opaque. Though the formula is not my top choice it is a good second and the colour selection is amazing. Also, just a heads up the colours are not well represented on the Sephora website – so I do recommend you go into the store to swatch them in person.
SHADE
Pure Hollywood: is a dusty rose tone that I actually was slightly disappointed about. The colour looks great when swatched on my hand however turns out to look a little too chalky or white toned on my lips. I now use the colour as a mix-in colour to lighten my other liquid lipsticks.
Crush: is a deeper rosy tone that turned out to be the perfect MLBB (my lips but better) for me. When swatched it looks a little dark – however when worn on the lips it works well to compliment my everyday look and looks rather ‘natural’.
